SP-AN is a conference exploring the ways in which design and technology shape our everyday lives. This year, Google Design is featuring the work of makers and thinkers in Pittsburgh, Newcastle-Gateshead, and Mexico City – cities where art and industry intersect in new and intriguing ways. For SP-AN NCL, Google Design and It’s Nice That are teaming up to bring together some of the UK’s best and brightest creatives for a workshop and series of talks. The event was held at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art on October 5. The speakers are representatives from innovative design and technology companies and were as follows:
It’s Nice That
The NewBridge Project
Artist & Composer
Graphic Artist & Video Director
At the SP-AN event ArtAV provided projection, production equipment, live streaming services and tech support throughout the event. We used one of our Barco W8 projector to present the slides and media on the main screen behind the speakers. We also provided our Blackmagic Design PPU, and multiple Blackmagic 4K Camera’s to provide the live streaming for the event.
Our good friends Novak Collective , who were also speaking at the event, created visualisations based on data collected by smart city sensors in Newcastle-Gateshead. These visualisations were projected using a pair of our Panasonic PT-DZ21K projectors with ET-D75LE90 ultra short throw lenses, on either side of the room. The event proved very successful and the visualisations were well received.
